Elevated Puzzles started with a simple question: what if the cut itself could be part of the art?
Every wooden jigsaw puzzle on the market is built the same way — an artist or a factory designs a grid of interlocking pieces, and every puzzle from that batch gets the exact same pattern. We build the pattern differently. Our puzzles are cut using generative cut algorithms we've written ourselves: software that designs organic, flowing piece shapes no die or template could produce. For our One-of-a-Kind Cut, the algorithm generates a pattern for that single puzzle alone — then the pattern is retired forever. No one else's puzzle, ever, will have that exact cut.
Founded in 2026, still a small workshop
We're a small operation. There's no factory floor, no century-old family legend, no "handed down from Grandpa's workshop" story here — just a genuine love of wooden puzzles and a belief that the cut pattern deserves as much craft attention as the artwork on top of it. We founded Elevated Puzzles in 2026 because we couldn't find a puzzle where the cut felt as considered as the picture, so we built the tools to make one.
What "elevated" means to us
Every puzzle we ship is laser-cut from 1/4" wood for a clean, tight, satisfying fit — no warping, no fuzzy edges, no flimsy cardboard flex. Along the way our algorithms scatter in whimsy pieces (animals, objects, little surprises shaped into the cut) that make solving genuinely fun to figure out, not just fun to look at once it's done. We think a good puzzle should reward you twice: once for the image, and once for the cut.
Two ways to cut a puzzle
Our Signature Cut uses one of our house-designed organic cut patterns, sized to your puzzle. Our One-of-a-Kind Cut goes a step further: the algorithm generates a pattern exclusively for your puzzle, with its own whimsies and its own flow through the image — then that pattern is never used again. You can also start from a photo of your own with our fully custom puzzles, which always ship with a one-of-a-kind cut.
Built to last, made to be handed down
We build every puzzle to heirloom quality — sturdy enough to be assembled, boxed up, and pulled back out for years of holidays and rainy afternoons. If you ever lose a piece, we've got you covered: read about our missing piece replacement policy.
