Floris Verster spent his career returning to the same quiet subject — flowers, fruit, a single vessel — and by 1910 he'd distilled it to this: zinnias crowded into a green jar, painted with a thick, almost sculptural confidence. The petals catch light unevenly, dense with color in some places and nearly bare canvas in others, which gives our cut algorithm a natural rhythm to follow. Expect small, curling, whimsy-rich pieces through the densest blooms, and calmer, more open pieces where the background falls away into shadow. The trickiest fits hide in the jar's reflection. It's a satisfying mid-difficulty solve — enough color variation to keep you oriented, enough texture in the paint itself to slow you down in the best way. A classic still life, reborn as 1/4-inch wood.

Materials & Craftsmanship
Every Elevated Puzzle starts as a full sheet of 1/4" wood — thick enough to lift and flip without flexing, thin enough to nest tight in the box. We precision laser-cut each piece, which means crisp edges, consistent tolerances, and a faint trace of laser char along the kerf that fades within a day or two of unboxing (that's the good kind of new-puzzle smell). Edges are lightly sanded by hand so nothing catches or splinters. Assembled, the pieces lock together with a confident click and hold their shape when lifted — no glue, no backing board, just clean joinery. Built to be solved, taken apart, and solved again for years. This is a puzzle meant to be handed down, not shelved after one afternoon.
The One-of-a-Kind Cut
Most puzzle cuts are templates, reused across hundreds of copies. Ours don't have to be. Upgrade to the One-of-a-Kind Cut and our generative cut algorithm designs an entirely new piece pattern — organic, flowing, and unrepeatable — built specifically for your puzzle. It plans its own whimsy pieces, tracing a tessellating flow through the image that's shaped by the art itself rather than a die that's already cut a thousand puzzles before. Once your pattern is generated, we retire it for good. No one else will ever own a puzzle cut exactly like yours — not from us, not from anyone. Same image, but no two solves ever feel the same.
Lead Times & Shipping
Signature Cut puzzles ship in 2–3 business days. One-of-a-Kind Cut puzzles take a little longer — 3–5 business days — since we're generating and laser-cutting a pattern made just for your order. Fully custom photo puzzles ship in 7–10 business days to allow time for cut design and production. We currently ship within the US only: flat $9.95 on every order, free automatically once your cart reaches $150. You'll get a shipping confirmation with tracking the moment your puzzle leaves the workshop.
Care & Storage
Keep your puzzle dry, out of direct sun, and stored flat once boxed — wood doesn't love humidity or heat any more than the picture on it does. Never glue or varnish an assembled puzzle; if you want to keep one on display, mount it instead. Missing a piece? It happens — visit our Care & Storage page for full guidance and our replacement policy.
